Established in 2009 Arcadia Markets enjoys a growing reputation of becoming one the best markets in the Hornsby Shire & Hills District. Held twice yearly (May & November), Arcadia Markets are the major fundraisers for Arcadia Public School.
Arcadia Markets showcase Creativity, Inspiration, Beauty, Individuality, Talent, Commitment, Ingenuity & Passion.
Much is on offer at Arcadia Markets – original craft, jewellery & accessories, handmade items, eco products, fresh produce, skincare, plants, furniture, gourmet & international cuisine, home-wares & much, much more. Chat with the vendors – often there is a story to tell regarding that divine necklace/delicious food/quirky antique/marvellous idea!
Arcadia Markets are set in the picturesque grounds of Arcadia Public School - a rural, friendly & relaxed environment. Kids love our award winning playground. Parking is free & plentiful.

I have been involved in the Ceramic Industry for 25 years. I started as a student and progressed to become a teacher having passed the product knowledge exams. In the 1990s I travelled to Florida to the Ceramic Show and attended workshops – an amazing experience! I have entered some of my pieces at the Royal Easter Show – 1st place for a couple of years. A ceramic design project I created has been published in a ceramics magazine.
The process is as follows:
I start with the powder clay which is mixed to a recipe - this is called The Slip. The Slip is then cast in a plaster mold thus creating the shape such as a plate, this is allowed to dry. When dry, the plate is lightly sanded then it is ready to paint. Once painted it is fired in a kiln to 1080 degrees centigrade. The plate is then brushed with glaze which makes it food safe. It is fired once again to 1000 degrees centigrade. Each firing process takes 16 hrs.
